Terms and Conditions

- The client agrees their dog is fit, healthy & fully vaccinated (at the time of the appointment)

- The groomer cannot accept female dogs in season for grooming, unless there are no other dogs present at the time.

- The client agrees that the groomer will not be held liable or responsible for irritation abrasion, patchiness or hair loss due to any pre-existing skin condition, or as a result of the process of grooming, de-matting, thinning, stripping, shaving, or any other mishap caused by non-disclosure of the dog’s medical.

- If the dog attempts to bite, a muzzle may be used or at the discretion of the groomer, treatment may stop and the client will pay for all work done to that point.

- If the client’s dog is very nervous, the groomer of course will be gentle and take their time with them, but sometimes they become too stressed. The groomer will stop and the client will pay for all work done to that point.

- If the client’s dog’s injury is self inflicted or the groomer gets injured, the client agrees to cover any veterinary or medical expenses.

- If the client’s dog harbours any parasites or fleas the groomer will clear them at the client’s expense (from £10).

- If the client fails to collect their dog within 20 minutes after the agreed collection time, they will pay any extra costs due.

- When you collect your pet and you see your grooming result, you will be pleased with the result and your ‘fluffy’ will look and smell gorgeous. Please advise the groomer before you leave the salon if you would like the face, tail or whatever slightly tweaked or shorter etc so that the groomer can do this straight away.  This is never an issue and they would rather you say there and then so they can tweak at that time.

- If for some reason you are not happy I will try to resolve the issue quickly and amicably.

- All complaints must be made in writing within 48 hours. All complaints will be dealt with in a courteous manner from my side and me request courtesy too.

- I will not indulge owners who threaten to go the local press, or involve PIF/ BDGA/BIGA etc, when your perceived complaint is through the fault of yourself being ignorant to your pets grooming and welfare requirements and basically the problem has been caused by you.

- Please note the groomer may have to adjust collection times during the groom if it is more difficult or taking longer than expected due to coat condition or dog’s behaviour.

MATTING RELEASE

- The need to remove matted hair is a necessity. When a coat becomes tangled beyond the ability to brush or comb through it the most humane method is to shave off the matted hair. Shaving may seem severe, but it is the fastest and least stressful way to groom a matted pet.

Matted coats can cause the following problems:

• Skin irritation caused by dirt, dander and parasites trapped under the matted hair.

• Sores and hair loss: As mats get tighter, they eventually pull out of the skin, causing bald spots and sore skin.

• In severe cases, maggots can infest skin sores.

• It is not uncommon to find pre-existing conditions such as hot spots, sores and other skin issues once the matted coat is removed. There is a chance that your pet’s skin may become irritated from being clipped so close.

• Ear bruising or hematoma bleeding due to excessive head shaking after removal of mats can occur.

• The client understands that the procedure takes extreme care and extra time and will therefore be additional charges depending on the severity of matting.

• The client hereby releases the  groomer from responsibility for the above-mentioned shaving process and any problems that many be uncovered or occur during said procedure.

• The client agrees to pay all charges for said procedure.

• Should the dog require veterinary care during or after the procedure, the groomer would contact the client to make arrangements and the client agrees to pay all veterinary fees.

Puppies

- If you would like to groom your puppy, it must have had all its vaccinations. If it hasn’t yet been vaccinated the groomer will not groom until two weeks after the last vaccination is given.

- You agree when you hand over your pet to the groomer will be held liable or responsible for irritation, abrasion, shaving rash, patchiness or other hair loss as a result of the process of grooming, de-matting, thinning, stripping, or shaving or any mishap caused by your non-disclosure of your pets medical condition or behaviour.
